hola familia!!! ¿Cómo están? how is everyone doing? Sounds like fun the utah trip. The grandkids are getting big.
This week was a great one. It was a great 4th of july. We three missionaries from the united states and one from Chile, so we showed Hermana Contreras a little taste of American pride. At night we just ate hot dogs and made homemade ice cream, the kind that you make by putting half and half with sugar and vanilla in a plastic bag, and then another plastic bag of ice and you shake it for a while. It was pretty delicious. We also sang patriotic songs all day and just had nice short celebration of our nations independence. Attached are the pictures of the ice cream, us three gringas, our apartment celebrating the United States. It is great
In Sotero del Rio, we continue to work with lots of less actives. This week, hermano Oleksiuk came to church for the first time in MANY years. His whole family is active except for him. Hopefully he keeps coming to church. Hermana Aranda from the week before came to church again too this week. She keeps on progressing little by little.
A cool experience that happened this week was in Zone Class. I have had the question, How can i be more converted? for a few weeks now, but i have not been able to find the answer. In Zone class, one of the zone leaders said that to be more converted we have to think of others all the time. We talked about how the three main reasons for discouragement in the mission, the agency of others, personal problems like family things, and thinking too much in yourself. It is true that we just have to lose ourselves and get to work and we do not need to get discouraged. This is easier said than done, but we have this life to learn and grow right? So if we think of ourselves we are going to be discouraged. If we want to be happy we have to serve with all of our heart, mind, might, and strength. We are only truly happy when we lose ourselves in the service of others (or at least this is my experience in the mission). I am trying to apply this so that I can be happier and more importantly, so that i can serve more effectively. I know that the Lord loves us,that He is our father, and that if we pray He always answers in His time. I love yall a whole whole bunch!!!!!!!
con mucho amor,
Hermana Taylor
