Hola familia!!!
The united states sounds a little cold, i hope that yall are staying warm up there!!! Everyone sounds really great, and i hope you stay that way!
This week was really great!! We saw miracles, had challenges, and loved every minute of it! Saturday two kids got baptized, Kevin and Keyla. One is eleven and the other 8. We have been working with their families for some time now and it was amazing to see both of the families pull together and support their children. The ward really helped make it special too.
So I continue to be here in Trinidad, but no longer in a trio. I am still with Hermana Escobar for another 6 weeks, and Hermana Chavez and Hermana Hallenberger are serving in the ward too. We know we are going to see miracles this transfer! Wednesday we had correlation (the meeting with the ward missionary council) and it was the best correlación of my mission! We got there, discussed the people we were visiting, their needs and the ward missionaries all are going to help us this week. We told them the appointments we had, and everyone is going to accompany us. It was quite amazing!! Our ward is improving in the missionary department, and we know that we are going to see lots of miracles!
I took a big piece of humble pie this week. Our mission president has told us that the mission is our time of biggest repentance, and it is true. I learned a lot about charity and to look at people the way that Christ sees them. Sometimes we only focus on people´s faults instead of on their many talents. I am learning how to look past faults (because we all have them, I know I have a ton) and see them as the Savior sees them. The Savior loves everyone, absolutely everyone! He does not reject anyone, even the vilest of sinners like Alma the younger. We all have imperfections, weaknesses, and sins, but through the Atonement EVERYONE can be cleansed, fortified, and healed.
I love yall a ton!!! Keep on keeping the Savior as the center of your lives! And keep on working at seeing people as the Lord sees them, not as they are but as they can become (like President Monson said). LES AMO UN MONTÓN!!!!
con mucho mucho amor,
Hermana Taylor

Hey familia!!!
How are yall? How bad is the cold? I hope that everyone is surviving!
We are working hard and are seeing miracles. In the midst of these great opportunities, we do have some difficulties though. We have three people that want to get baptized, but are living with someone so they cant get baptized yet. One investigator that wants to get baptized is Gladys, the wife of a less active. She is really great, she just needs to get baptized. A lot of members here do not understand the law of chastity (or at least a lot of less active members). Her daughter who is 8 is getting baptized saturday and we are excited for that! We have an 11 year old named Kevin who is getting baptized too. We are excited!!!! Another investigator named Jennifer is progressing, just one thing is holding up her baptism. We are just praying a lot that everything turns out fine. She really wants to be baptized but has to make a change really big in her life.
Yesterday we had an activity in the church called el centro de visitantes en la capilla,or visitor´s center inthe church. The sister missionaries gave tours, and the elders asked for references and taught about baptism. We had a good turnout, a couple of people fromthe Street, and a few of our investigators and less actives. It was a cool experience and we felt the spirit so strong during the entire thing!
We also saw a miracle with a part member family we are visiting. The daughter, 20 years old, committed to a date to be baptized!!! We were super happy and they said they would come to church too. The misión is full of disappointments too. We passed by, and no one answered the door, nor the phone. We will keep on trying though!
Saturday night we did splits with the members and returned to go to the last appointment of the day. When we got there, the sister said she was a Little busy and couldnt attend to us. So, we went to their neighbors next door. They are inactive and we normally just talk to the mom, but this time she wasnt their and her daughter came out. We had a lesson with her instead, and invited her to church. She said that she had promised the Lord that she would come back to church if He would save her two kids. He two Little boys are adorable, and miracles. She said that she knows that she has not fulfilled her committment and wanted to come withus. It is amazing that the last point of the day is when we saw miracles. That is how it normally goes, and that is ok. We have to persevere through the hard times and the Lord grants us with miracles.
I am learning, that I do not really get full joy out of doing nothing. It is ok to rest for a momento, but we get more joy out of doing things, especially serving others. I love serving others because I truly get joy out of their joy. Also, the Lord puts my life in perspective when I forget about myself and help others. Our problems are not really that big, we just think they are big because we magnify them when we just worry about ourselves. I also am learning that the Lord truly makes up the difference when we do all that we can. Sometimes we are just so tired it does not seem like we can make it through the day, but somehow we dont just make it through the day but thrive through the day. It is a miracle for me. The Lord ALWAYS makes sure it turns out when we put in all our efforts. I can testify to that.
i love yall un MONTÖn!!!! Keep warm!!!

Hola familia!!!
How is the cold US of A?? haha, even people here in chile talk about how it is super cold up there with you guys. Here it is perfect weather! It is in the 90s everyday, but with basically no humidity so it is not hot at all, especially after getting used to being in the street all day everyday. Sometimes at night with the breeze I get a little cold haha. I LOVE summers here!!!
This week we saw lots of miracles!!!! Jennifer, who came to church last week and wants to get baptized, we had a family home evening with a family in the ward and we talked about the word of wisdom. We gave her some ecco (it is a barley drink thing that they drink here), and she has been replacing her coffee with that. She is progressing great, she just has one thing to work out and she can get baptized the end of this month hopefully, or february!!! She has accepted everything, and even has called us to repentance a little. As we talked about the word of wisdom, she said, "oh then you do not drink the dark sodas because they have caffeine too right? She is FANTASTIC!!!!
We also saw a miracle with a part member family we have been working with. We have been working for about 3 months with the mom, Gladys, who is really great but did not want to get baptized because she was already baptized in her other church in ecuador. We tried to explain but she just did not understand, and did not read the scriptures. We got a little discouraged about her, but we still taught her daughter that is turning 8 this week because she is going to get baptized. We went to teach the daughter this week, and the mom was there, attentive more or less. When we talked about her baptism, the mom asked her, "Keyla, you want to be baptized?" and Keyla answered, "YES!!!!!!" more enthusiastically. Then Gladys told us, "then i want to be baptized too." our jaws just about dropped to the floor at that point and we had to control ourselves so that we did not shout for joy!!! We had to go, and did not have much more chance to talk with her after that. We went back yesterday, and she told us that this week she was thinking, "no, I am not going to get baptized," and she just got this feeling like she was losing a bunch of blessings. Like a door was there open full of blessings and she wasnt going to enter. We basically said, "yes, that is exactly right." But, ya she still wants to be baptized, believes that Joseph Smith was a profet and accepted the word of wisdom. We are excited for her too!!! She is shooting to be baptized the end of this month with her daughter if one thing she has to do gets worked out. We are really excited!!!
We also have a kid named Kevin who is going to get baptized. He is eleven, with aspbergers, and is super great!!! It is a little more challenging to teach him because we have about 15 minutes max to teach him every appointment. We are learning to adjust things. We are seeing miracles!!!
We also were able to beat our goal for lessons with member present this week (something I have never been able to do in the mission). We have gone on a lot of splits with members and it has been great. We are so tired everyday when we get home, and it feels so great!!! Even though these emergency transfers were a little rough, we have worked hard and the Lord has blessed us with A LOT of miracles!!! Truly, we do not do that much, He does everything. We just get to be a part of these miracles.
A girl in our ward named Leticia got home from her mission 3 months ago and she gave a talk in sacrament yesterday about the faith. Faith is more than belief, it is action. She said that many people say they have faith, but do nothing, so therefore it is not really faith just belief. We have to pray for things like guidance, miracles, etc but then work and do everything so that we can gain what we asked for. He makes things work, paths open up, and miracles happen but only if we are moving. She also was asked once why she saw so many miracles in her mission. She thought maybe it was her faith, and her mission president answered, "it is your obedience." If we truly have faith, we obey in EVERY aspect, not just in some. If we truly have faith, we do everything the Lord asks even it is something small like read the scriptures everyday for 15 minutes. It was humbling for me, this talk, but I learned a lot and want to follow the Lord´s council in EVERYTHING!!! I want real faith.
Later that day, I went on split with Leticia and we found a less active member that was in my mind that day. We talked about Faith being action (putting the word action instead of faith in Ether 12 verse 6) and he said it was a pivotal point for him. A time to make decisions and we came at the perfect time. I am learning that impressions normally are not big, but are small. His family was just in the back of my mind, and I did not think to much of it, but now I realize it was an impression. The Lord works in marvelous ways.
I LOVE YALL A BUNCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Develop true faith, not just belief, by doing the little things and big things that the Lord commands.

I am thankful for the opportunity to have these emergency changes last week. Things were a little crazy as we started this week, but we are getting the hang of it now. Since we basically have two sectors, with appointments in both sectors, we have had to depend on the members A LOT and were forced to find a member for almost everyday to leave with us so that we could go to all of our appointments. We had to make a lot of phone calls in order to find people, but it all worked out. We have been doing divisions with the members and splitting up our trio. One will go with the member to the appointment, and the other two will go to another appointment or go contact, or look for people we have already contacted etc. We really improved our numbers and feel like we and the ward have come alive. We had ward councel yesterday and the ward is preparing for the CVC (we did this in my first ward, it is visitors center in the church. we do tours and stuff and invite the whole world to come) and they are excited. This time in ward council they also talked of names. It was constructive and the ward is doing really great
We also have seen lots and lots of miracles. We are SUPER SUPER SUPER excited about one of our investigators, Jennifer. She is a reference from another investigator, and we first contacted her at a birthday when we passed by for a little bit. We talked a little bit and she gave us her direction. We passed by a few times the next few weeks, but we couldnt find her. about a week and a half ago we finally found her and taught her the first lesson right there. She accepted it all and listened really intently. We set up an appointment for this last week and we went on Thursday. (oh and we invited her to be baptized the first time and she said yes). We went this time and reviewed the first lesson, answered questions (she had good ones) and read the first chapter of the book of mormon with her. She said she was super excited to go to church and that she had been talked with her novio and he was willing to listen too. We went the next day (well I did with a member, Claudia) to visit her. She had read all of the folleto 2 and basically taught us the second lesson. She said she had prayed, felt the same peace and calmness that she felt when we were there and that she knew this was the correct path. She hit it off really well with Claudia, and Jennifer asked about the word of wisdom and what we do and dont drink. We gave her some ecco (it is kind of like that barley cup drink that mom likes. It is barley and not coffee) on Sunday and she was so excited to replace her coffee with ecco. She accepted to be baptized 26th of this month, the only problem is she isnt married. We talked to her and she wants to get married and her boyfriend too. They started something here where the church can pay for the judge so that the people can get married and then baptized. We just have to look into how to do that. It is a little more complicated to get married here than in the states, ok a lot more complicated. She came to church, and LOVED it!!! She said at the end, ¨Ya me convincieron.¨ (Yall already convinced me). I have heard the stories about golden investigators that are ready right when we get there, but this is my first experience in the mission with one. She is 24 with a 2 month old baby and when she got pregnant she started to change her life and the Lord put us there in her path at the right time it looks like so that she can continue this change with the gospel in her life too. OH man, we are so excited! SO SO SO EXCITED!!!!!
It is kind of fun to be in a trio again, because this time I know what I am doing (that what happens with 4 months in a trio before haha). It makes it a lot easier to go on splits with the members. We just have to find one and we can do twice the work that we could have done just as a trio. We take turns going out with the member, and staying as a duo. We are really trying hard to have members with us everyday at all our appointments if it is possible. I have felt this excitement and drive since I first got here to chile. I know that more miracles are just around the corner.
A funny story that happened is we went on splits, Hermana Chavez with a member from the ward, and Hermana Escobar and I. This sister only had one hour to work with us, so we were going to work in the sector closer to the appointment. We felt like we needed to go to our sector a little farther away, so we walked fast. Hermana Escobar wanted to go to the bathroom so we stopped by some contacts we had made earlier, but no one was home. I am pretty sure she was praying that we could find someone. We stopped by the last one, and an old man (the dad of the contact we had made two weeks ago) came out. He said he wasnt interested, but then hermana escobar asked to use the bathroom and he let us in. He and his wife with alzheimer´s live there all day alone almost. Laura (the wife) reminds me so much of grandma!!! It was great! They gave us some soda to drink (they always have soda here, always). We sang them a song, had a prayer and had to leave so that we could go meet up with our other companion hermana chavez. Well, Laura said that we needed more to dirnk (she did not remember that we had just drank a full glass of soda). So her husband gave us more. THen she found a bag of chicken from there lunch and said, "oh what is this. OH chicken! Here eat it all!" and gave us a plate and silverware. We tried to avoid eating, but we couldnt so we ate really fast and chugged our soda. Of course, Laura offered us more because she did not remember we had just drank two glasses of soda, and her husband gave us more. We chugged the last glass, nicely declined the french fries she offered us and said a prayer and left. We then had to run all the way to the other sector to meet with up with Hermana Chavez and the memember. It was a miracles that we could run with that much soda, and chicken haha. It was really fun. We have an appointment wednesday with them.
Wednesday we were trying to find people to leave with us all day because we had appointments in those two sectors, and we just could not find members for the whole day. The hardest thing was to step back and trust in the Lord at that point. We could do nothing more, and He told us to just trust Him. I struggle with that, trusting Him when there does not seem to be any way that things will work out. But, we did. Things did not turn out anything like we planned, but everything worked out. I am still amazed at what happened. The Lord is really smart!!!! I think the Lord has been trying to teach me to relax and trust Him, that it will all work out in the end even if it is nothing like we planned. He has the better plan, so why should we fear if we did our part? Ya, looking back on my mission, I am trusting in Him a lot more. My faith has grown, and my fear has decreased. I know He lives! I just KNOW it!!! There is no better path than His path. He can do anything, so why should we ever think twice to do exactly what He tells us to do. He is amazing and I love the Lord!
Know that members are a big work in missionary work. Befriending people that come to church, inviting people to activities (what is the worst they can say, no?,) and being good examples. Trust in the Lord. He has the best plan for us. LOVE YALL LOTS!!
con mucho mucho amor,

December 30, 2013
dear family,
HAPPY NEW YEAR (well almost)!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was really fun to see yall on Christmas and talk to yall. It seems like Christmas was really great with the whole family. Mis sobrinos son tan grandes!!! Really, the grandkids are growing up really fast, it is kind of shocking. What all did yall do for vacation? I know yall went sledding, but what else? Are yall ready for this next year?
Something I have definitely learned in the mission is the need to have goals. I never really liked goals before, but I love them now!!! it is always good to have a goal to work towards instead of just going with the flow. We accomplish a lot more with goals. This year I am going to set New Year´s Resolutions. I am still working on them, what I really want to accomplish (it is a little weird to think about the end of the year when I will not be in the mission. I try not to think about it) this next year. Have yall set new year´s resolutions? One of the best ways to actually accomplish your goals, is to put them where you can see them everyday. We started that with our weekly goals as missionaries, and it helps a lot. We are a lot more focused and meet more of our goals every week.
Something cool the Trinidad ward did this week was have a combined relief society and priesthood meeting and talked with everyone about the goals of the ward. Every ward sets goals of baptisms, church attendance, activations, etc every year, but this was the first time I have actually heard and seen it put into action. The goals are high but achieveable if everyone will do their part. It is the same in the wards in the united states too. One goal as a stake that they have here, is for every person or family to pick a less active that they want to activate and work all year to help that person or family come back to church. There are a TON of less actives here (we have a third of the ward in our sector, and of the less actives we have met there are 34 families, and a lot more in our ward list that we have not met.)!!!! The Lord wants everyone to enjoy the blessings of this gospel, so He will help us have success if we are serious about working as hard as we can to achieve it. As a missionary, I have to extend committments to yall too, so
Will you pray, and fast to know who you can reactivate or help to come back to church this year??? I expect emails with your answer. They talked about reactivation in General Conference, and we have a promise from servants of the Lord that we will have success if we are willing to put in our effort. I promise yall too that He will answer your prayers and you really can be the Lord´s angel to bring someone back into the fold of god.
This week was really great! Our ward just called some new ward missionaries that are doing awesome!!! We are having a lot more lessons with members and it makes a huge differences. We are just young adults with not too many life experiences, but when members come with us, they can relate with people in a different level. It is awesome!!! Yall should definitely ask the missionaries when you can accompany them!!!!
So, another companionship in our ward had emergency transfers and one of them went to another ward to replace someone there, and the other one is now with my companion and me in a trio. Hermana chavez is with Hermana Escobar and I now. We are going to see lots of miracles!!!! Basically we are an oreo, I am the creme and the other two are the cookies haha.
Also, I just want to tell yall that the Atonement works and is for everyone. In the mission, we are not perfect. I DEFINITELY am not perfect and I have to repent everyday. I testify that I have felt the Lord´s forgiveness. I know that when we partake of the sacrament we truly can be forgiven and basically be clean like we were baptized all over again. I did not understand this too much before the mission, but now I am beginning to learn of the miracle of forgiveness. I am so grateful for the atonement and the sacrifice of my Savior. I am so grateful.
I love yall a ton!!!! Send me answers to this committments please!!! Set goals!!! I love yall un montón!!!
