Hola familia!!!

How is the cold US of A?? haha, even people here in chile talk about how it is super cold up there with you guys. Here it is perfect weather! It is in the 90s everyday, but with basically no humidity so it is not hot at all, especially after getting used to being in the street all day everyday. Sometimes at night with the breeze I get a little cold haha. I LOVE summers here!!!

This week we saw lots of miracles!!!! Jennifer, who came to church last week and wants to get baptized, we had a family home evening with a family in the ward and we talked about the word of wisdom. We gave her some ecco (it is a barley drink thing that they drink here), and she has been replacing her coffee with that. She is progressing great, she just has one thing to work out and she can get baptized the end of this month hopefully, or february!!! She has accepted everything, and even has called us to repentance a little. As we talked about the word of wisdom, she said, "oh then you do not drink the dark sodas because they have caffeine too right? She is FANTASTIC!!!!

We also saw a miracle with a part member family we have been working with. We have been working for about 3 months with the mom, Gladys, who is really great but did not want to get baptized because she was already baptized in her other church in ecuador. We tried to explain but she just did not understand, and did not read the scriptures. We got a little discouraged about her, but we still taught her daughter that is turning 8 this week because she is going to get baptized. We went to teach the daughter this week, and the mom was there, attentive more or less. When we talked about her baptism, the mom asked her, "Keyla, you want to be baptized?" and Keyla answered, "YES!!!!!!" more enthusiastically. Then Gladys told us, "then i want to be baptized too." our jaws just about dropped to the floor at that point and we had to control ourselves so that we did not shout for joy!!! We had to go, and did not have much more chance to talk with her after that. We went back yesterday, and she told us that this week she was thinking, "no, I am not going to get baptized," and she just got this feeling like she was losing a bunch of blessings. Like a door was there open full of blessings and she wasnt going to enter. We basically said, "yes, that is exactly right." But, ya she still wants to be baptized, believes that Joseph Smith was a profet and accepted the word of wisdom. We are excited for her too!!! She is shooting to be baptized the end of this month with her daughter if one thing she has to do gets worked out. We are really excited!!!

We also have a kid named Kevin who is going to get baptized. He is eleven, with aspbergers, and is super great!!! It is a little more challenging to teach him because we have about 15 minutes max to teach him every appointment. We are learning to adjust things. We are seeing miracles!!!

We also were able to beat our goal for lessons with member present this week (something I have never been able to do in the mission). We have gone on a lot of splits with members and it has been great. We are so tired everyday when we get home, and it feels so great!!! Even though these emergency transfers were a little rough, we have worked hard and the Lord has blessed us with A LOT of miracles!!! Truly, we do not do that much, He does everything. We just get to be a part of these miracles.

A girl in our ward named Leticia got home from her mission 3 months ago and she gave a talk in sacrament yesterday about the faith. Faith is more than belief, it is action. She said that many people say they have faith, but do nothing, so therefore it is not really faith just belief. We have to pray for things like guidance, miracles, etc but then work and do everything so that we can gain what we asked for. He makes things work, paths open up, and miracles happen but only if we are moving. She also was asked once why she saw so many miracles in her mission. She thought maybe it was her faith, and her mission president answered, "it is your obedience." If we truly have faith, we obey in EVERY aspect, not just in some. If we truly have faith, we do everything the Lord asks even it is something small like read the scriptures everyday for 15 minutes. It was humbling for me, this talk, but I learned a lot and want to follow the Lord´s council in EVERYTHING!!! I want real faith.

Later that day, I went on split with Leticia and we found a less active member that was in my mind that day. We talked about Faith being action (putting the word action instead of faith in Ether 12 verse 6) and he said it was a pivotal point for him. A time to make decisions and we came at the perfect time. I am learning that impressions normally are not big, but are small. His family was just in the back of my mind, and I did not think to much of it, but now I realize it was an impression. The Lord works in marvelous ways.

I LOVE YALL A BUNCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Develop true faith, not just belief, by doing the little things and big things that the Lord commands.

love

hermana taylor
